Royer Bockus

Royer Bockus is an actor, singer, and dancer based in New York City. Most recently she performed in Watch Night directed and choreographed by Bill T. Jones in the inaugural production of the Perelman Performing Arts Center. She is a six-season acting company member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Regionally, she has performed at Trinity Repertory Company, Lookingglass Theatre, The Wallis Annenberg Center, The Jungle, and The O’Neill Center.

Royer is also the co-founder of Ring of Keys, a national network of queer women+, trans, and gender non-conforming professionals working on and offstage in musical theatre. Check it out at www.ringofkeys.org.

Royer studied Communication Studies and Spanish at Northwestern University, where she completed the Musical Theatre Certificate program. She is currently part of the Advanced Study Improv program at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, and has also studied improv at the Second City. An avid tap dancer, Royer has studied with Michelle Dorrance, Mark Yonally, Barbara Phillips, Dena Mabry, and the Tonik Tap Ensemble.

Royer is a family name. In addition to theatre, Royer enjoys writing and directing her own music videos (check out that YouTube icon below). She also teaches music to the cutest kids in New York City, plays in indie-pop duo Family Friend, and frequently visits her wonderful family in San Antonio, Texas.
